Seeing and the Unseen

February 10 - April 30, 2021

Gil Bruvel, Hoo Chang Lee, Kyung Youl Yoon, Yong R Kwon

Donghwa ode Gallery is proud to present a group exhibition, "Seen and the Unseen", which features works by Gil Bruvel, Hoo Chang Lee, Yong R Kwon, and Kyung Youl Yoon. The works included in this exhibition all explore the way in which the unseen and the intangible forms our perception. Hoo Chang Lee plays with transparency and opaqueness of cast glass to explore human psychology. Gil Bruvel uses gaps of negative space to explores the ideas of distorted realities and the possibility of multiple perspectives. The work of Kyung Youl Yoon uses cubes in the place of a brush to create the relief like sculptural pieces. By creating a unique form of presentation, Yoon hopes to inspire new perspectives and new ways of looking. Yong R Kwon’s work shape shifts depending on its environment and the viewer's perspective. The shifting and intangible quality of light in these pieces explore how one's perspective can shift based on what is seen and unseen.
