MARTHA

WALKER

May Bender's artworks generally are abstract/expressionist following figurative, geometric, and non-objective direction done in various techniques from "painterly" and "gestural" to smoothly thinned out colors. Color was Mrs. Bender's strong point evidenced in her most recent grouping "Cerebrations," non-objective works which are the conceptualization of the wonderings of the mind about color and free forms, and the infinite combinations thereof. There are no stories to tell, just the excitement and pleasure of almost unexpected results of texture, line, and form.
