HOO CHANG LEE

Hoo Chang Lee (b. 1979) creates glass installations and sculpture that experiment with the point between transparency and opaqueness. Lee’s works often test the boundaries between the seen and unseen, questioning the transparency of humankind psychological complexity and existential identity. Lee’s recent work addresses the gaze - of seeing and of being seen - and the ways in which this duplicity mirror the duality of one’s existential identity. Through the use of glass and mirror, the artist points towards the illusory nature of perception, suggesting that all visual experience is an illusion - a mere reflection of light.
